About Me

Welcome! My name is Krista Crump, and I’m a Postpartum Doula and Newborn Care Specialist based in Central New York. Prior to becoming a doula, I earned both my undergraduate and master’s degrees in Computer Science and spent about eight years working in tech. I worked with some amazing people and enjoyed certain parts of the job, but I always knew it wasn’t my true calling. Eventually, I decided to take a leap of faith and see if there was something else out there for me — something that felt more meaningful.

I’ve always loved babies and had a strong interest in health and nutrition, so when my sister had my nephew and I met her doula, something just clicked. After learning more about what doulas do to support families and babies, I realized it could be the perfect way to bring all of my passions together — caring for babies, supporting families, and helping women heal and recover after birth. I felt led to go for it, got certified, and started working with families right away. This work has been incredibly fulfilling, and I’m so grateful to be doing something that feels truly purposeful. I’m also currently working toward a nutrition certification so I can build that more fully into my work.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, traveling, working out, and being outdoors — hiking, biking, swimming, walking… nothing beats the peace of being in nature.

What is a Postpartum Doula?

A postpartum doula is a trained professional who provides hands-on, emotional, and informational support to new parents during the critical first weeks and months after childbirth. Unlike a baby nurse who focuses solely on infant care, a postpartum doula supports the entire family unit. My role is to help you feel confident and supported as you navigate the transition into parenthood.
